Activities Overview

Suppers and picnics – Covered dish suppers are held in conjunction with the general membership meetings on the fourth Saturday of January,February, March, April, May, and October. An annual banquet is held in November and a picnic is held in mid-summer.

Education – Several club members teach a series of classes at Hodgson Vo-Tech High School in Glasgow, DE. The classes are designed to introduce the high school students to antique automobile collecting, restoring, and displaying, and the fun and personal satisfaction derived from the hobby. In May of 2002 some of the students accompanied Brandywine Region members in the Northeast Old Car Rally.

Tours – The club's Dandelion Run is usually held in April or early May. It gets the club members and their cars tuned up for the season. A tour through the countryside stops for a picnic lunch at a secret location known only to the tour's organizer. A different location is selected each year and the participants are home in time for dinner. If members show an interest, special tours are sometimes organized to go to specific destinations.

Parades and Community Celebrations – The Brandywine Region participates in many local events such as New Castle City Separation Day,Hockessin Fourth of July Parade,Newark Halloween Parade, Wilmington DE. Jaycees Christmas Parade, and the Claymont Holiday Parade.

Car Shows – Brandywine Region members appear at many local and regional car shows besides the one that the club sponsors as part of the swap meet. They will be at the New Garden Air Show, The Hagley Museum Car Show, Pike Creek Shopping Center.

Cruise Nights – The many Cruise Nights in the local area from April through October often attract Brandywine Region members.
